Prime Gymnastics Club offers a wide variety of competitive levels. This ranges from gymnasts training just 4 hours a week, to those pursuing elite gymnastics training up to 26 hours a week. Children enrolled in competitive gymnastics can excel physically in many ways; strength, flexibility, physical awareness and spatial awareness to name just a few. The less obvious benefits tend to be mental and psychological, gymnasts learn to overcome their fears, conquer nerves, and develop advanced time management skills at an early age. The life skills learned from competitive gymnastics prepare these young adults to face life in the real world. Gymnastics is considered to be the best background for many sports as gymnasts are extremely well prepared both physically and mentally. It is very common for gymnasts of the highest caliber to excel in other sports at elite level after retirement - for example: Athletics, swimming, diving and skiing. Usually top female gymnasts retire around 19 years old whereas men tend to be a little older, in their mid 20's. Gymnastics has evolved to become an adult sport. Competitors must be at least 16 years old to compete at senior international level (i.e. Olympics/world championships).
At Prime our competitive gymnasts are not only given the opportunity to compete in locally organised events, but also at international meets within South East Asia, Australia and beyond. We are dedicated to raise the level of gymnastics within Singapore and to help each of our competitive gymnasts fulfill their maximum potential. Who knows what the future holds for our PRIME talented youngsters!!
